Python Track
Read the notebooks in order: each part builds on the one before it. Every part is a runnable Jupyter notebook with the code, outputs and charts included.
You’ll learn: Python’s core data types and operators; control flow with conditions and loops; functions and modules; lists, tuples, dictionaries and sets; reading and writing files; handling exceptions; object-oriented programming; and the basics of pandas, Matplotlib and Flask.
Prerequisites: none, this track starts from the beginning.
Tools: Python 3, Jupyter Notebook, pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Flask.
Roadmap
-
Part 1
Python Basics: Variables and Data Types
An introduction to Python, its interpreters, and core data types: numbers, strings, lists, tuples, dictionaries and basic operators.
-
Part 2
Python Control Flow: if, elif, else and Loops
Learn how Python makes decisions and repeats work with if, elif and else statements, for and while loops, and break and continue.
-
Part 3
Python Functions and Modules
Define and call Python functions, pass arguments, return values, and import modules and libraries such as math.
-
Part 4
Python Data Structures: Lists, Sets and Comprehensions
Work with Python lists, tuples, dictionaries, sets and frozensets, write list comprehensions, and sort and search collections.
-
Part 5
Python File Handling: Reading and Writing Files
Read and write text files in Python, choose the right file mode, and use the with statement to close files safely.
-
Part 6
Python Exceptions: try, except and finally
Handle errors in Python with try, except and finally, raise custom exceptions, and understand the exception class hierarchy.
-
Part 7
Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in Python
Learn classes and objects, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and method overriding and overloading in Python.
-
Part 8
Working with Data in Python: CSV, JSON and Pandas
Read and write CSV, JSON and XML data in Python, manipulate it with pandas, and visualize it with Matplotlib and Seaborn.
-
Part 9
Python Web Development: Flask and Django Basics
An introduction to Python web frameworks Flask and Django: routing, templates, databases, and HTTP requests and responses.
